How to use FNB eWallet

How to eWallet with FNB in South Africa

FNB has got this awesome feature for when you want to send cash to someone else quickly anywhere in South Africa.

What is eWallet?

eWallet is an electronic way to send cash to anyone in South Africa who has access to an FNB ATM. The person receiving doesn’t need an FNB account, all they need is a cellphone that can received SMS’s.

How can I eWallet money to someone from my FNB account?

There are four ways to eWallet money and we will explain all of them here.

Cellphone Banking

  • Dial *120*321#
  • Select ‘Send Money’
  • Select ‘eWallet’
  • Select the account you want to send money from
  • Key in the cellphone number you want to send to
  • Enter the amount you want to send
  • Select ‘Yes’ to send an SMS with an ATM PIN to the recipient for easy withdrawal
  • Confirm the amount and cellphone number
  • To send money using FNB Cellphone Banking you need to be registered for Cellphone Banking.
  • To register for Cellphone Banking
  • Dial *120*321# , visit any FNB branch or ATM or call the Cellphone Banking helpline on 087 575 9405
  • This service excludes Windows 7.5 – 8 operated phones.

Online Banking

  • Login to your Online Banking profile
  • Select ‘Send Money’
  • Select ‘Once-Off’
  • Enter the cellphone number of the recipient
  • Enter the amount you would like to send
  • Check the account you want to send money from (in the bottom right corner). If you would like to change the account, select the orange icon next to the account name.
  • Check and confirm the transaction
  • Enter your OTP (one time PIN)

Banking App

  • Login to you FNB Banking App
  • Select ‘Send Money’
  • Select ‘Send Money to eWallet’
  • Select the account you want to send money from
  • Enter the amount and cellphone you want to send to
  • Select ‘Send’
  • Confirm

To send money using the FNB Banking App you need to download the app on your smartphone.

How to download the app
Simply visit your device’s app store, search for the FNB Banking App and download!


  • Insert your FNB Debit, Cheque or Credit Card at the FNB ATM and enter your PIN
  • Select ‘More Options’
  • Select ‘Send or Receive Money’
  • Select ‘Send Money to eWallet’
  • Enter your date of birth. Read the terms and conditions and then select ‘Proceed’
  • Key in the cellphone number you want to send money to and select ‘Proceed’
  • Key in the amount you want to send and select ‘Proceed’
  • Confirm that all the details are correct and select ‘Proceed’
  • Remember to take your card before leaving the ATM
